"yume-akari 3.11" is a memorial event for the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011.
More than 10,000 people join in to post their wishes and prayers on paper-bag-lanterns every year, and the soft lights fill the venue on the day of this annual ceremony.
At the upcoming 7th "yume-akari 3.11", lanterns with messages from all over Japan and from other countries in the world will be lit up together as one.
